WHAT SHRUBS GROW IN THE SHADE?
There are several shrubs that thrive in full shade and even more that do well in part shade conditions. Pairing shade-shrubs with shade-loving perennials and groundcovers will create a beautiful shade garden filled with various flowers, foliage textures as well as winter interest.
Before choosing which shrubs to plant, make sure you know how many hours of sun your planting area gets:
• FULL SUN: 6+ hours of direct sun.
• PART SUN: 3 – 6 hours direct sun.
• FULL SHADE: Less than 3 hours direct sun.
